Summer Youth / Sports Performance Camps 2010
PERFORMANCE TRAINING

As the pioneers of Sports Performance Training in the Alabama, ICON Performance offers an innovative approach to training – working on a solid athletic foundation while staying focused on each athlete’s / youth individual goals. Our unique program includes instruction in movement training, injury reduction, linear and lateral speed development, foot speed and agility, explosive power development, proper weight training techniques, and functional strength training. Athletes are closely supervised as the coach takes them through an intense 1.5 hour workout and attention is always paid to proper technique and safety.
THE WORKOUT
The workout consists of functionally sound movement training, strength training and conditioning with a strong focus on basic and proper technique. The workout becomes progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered. The groups are kept small, no more than 9 per group, to allow maximum individual attention.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
SPEED – Acceleration, Deceleration, Linear and Lateral Movement Techniques, Running Mechanics, Footwork, Agility
EXPLOSIVE POWER – Olympic Lifting, Plyometrics, Medicine Ball, Jumping & Landing Techniques
STRENGTH – Functional Approach, Thorough Instruction, Focus on Upper Body, Lower Body & Core both Static and Dynamic
CONDITIONING – Prepares Athletes to be Game Ready for the Specific Demands of the Sport
FLEXIBILITY – Myofascial Release (Foam Rolling), Various Forms of Stretching, Muscle Activation, Dynamic Flexibility and Joint Mobility
INJURY REDUCTION – Identify & Correct Muscular Imbalances through Video Analysis of Combine Testing, Gait Work, Postural Testing and Movement Screens, Balance & Stabilization
NUTRITION EDUCATION – Lessons, Tips and Advice and Complete Dietary Breakdowns and Prescriptions
SESSIONS
For ICON Performance’s fall, winter, and spring sessions we offer group training Monday through Saturday and you may choose either the 2 day/week or 3 day/week program. Our summer session runs Monday through Saturday (with the exception of Thursdays) and is offered in a 4 day/week or 2 day/week program. We also offer a 2 day, 1 hour in-season program for those who are in-season Middle, Junior, High School or Collegiate athletes, and would like to stay strong during the season. All sessions will appropriate for age-specific training and certain mastery levels.
